Sheep Shearing Demonstration
All at the west end of the One Stop Learning Center
 
Saturday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m. - Shearing Demo
Sunday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. - Shearing Demo - Sheep Shearers
Monday, September 1 at 9:00 a.m. - Shearing Demo
 
Sheep Dog Demonstrations
Registration on Saturday, August 30th at 1:30 p.m. with demonstrations following at 2:00 p.m.
Registration on Sunday and Monday will be from 10:30-11:00 with demonstrations following registration.
 
First to demonstrate will be Novice (non-professional) dogs. They will fetch, lift, drive, and pen a group of sheep according to the procedure normally used on a novice course. At 2 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, professional dogs will be allowed to demonstrate their skills. They also will fetch, lift, drive, and pen a group of sheep according to the procedure normally used on a pro course.
 
Dale Lewis, Border Collie trainer and producer from Ashland, Missouri, will coordinate and emcee this show which has grown each year to become a premier crowd pleaser. Dale will bring years of stock dog knowledge and expertise to the microphone and is capable of relating dog's every move to teh audience. If you've never seen sheep dogs work, this show is worth the Festival admission alone.
