Fleece Competition
Spinning Wool, Commercial Wool, Mohair
 
Saturday, August 30
Check In: 1:00 p.m.
Judging: 2:00 p.m.
 
1. Each fleece will be weighed. you will be given a card and instructions for recoreding the necessary information.
2. Spinning fleeces will have three classes: (1) Fine & 1/2 blood; (2) Medium; (3) Coarse. Each will have two categories: White and natural colored. Commercial entries will have the above three classes in a white category only. Mohair entries will have two classes: (1) Adult; (2) Kid; and two categories: white and colored.
3. Judging Criteria: Quality of fiber, color, breaks, foreign matter, second cuts, skirted, and tied with paper twine.
4. You may enter THREE (3) fleeces in each division
5. Award: Ribbons for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in each class. Rosette for Grand Champion Fleece of the Show for each competition. *$25 gift certificate donated by Ozark Carding Mill to the owner of the Grand Champion Fleece for processing. *(2 Certificates) $10 toward fiber and yarn only.
6. There will be a $1.00 entry fee per fleece.
 
The superintendent has absolute authority over the terms and conditions, and reserves the right to divide, combine, or cancel any division
