Sheep to Shawl Competition
Sunday, August 31
9:00-11:00 a.m. -- 1 hour lunch break -- 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
 
Guidelines
1. Each team will consist of three spinners and one weaver.
2. The loom should be prewarped with a handspun warp of your choice. The warp may be dyed with any natural or commerical dye to produce a colored pattern.
3. Please bring a fleece to spin; it must not be picked or carded. It may be washed and/or dyed if desired.
4. Finished size of he shawl when removed from the loom should be 20" x 70" with 8" fringe. Please remember that the shawl will draw when taken off the loom.
5. The first place shawl will become the property of the festival. The winning shawl will be displayed in Bethel during the festival.
6. Judging Criteria: See the Judging Sheet below: Please review it carefully before the day of the competition. If you have questions, please ask before the competition begins.
7. Awards: 1st - $200 2nd - $50 3rd - $25
8. Space for the competition is limited, so there will be a lmited number of teams. Please apply early. The contest will not be held with less than three teams. There is no entry fee.
